| Church Without Walls Report | ||
| The 2001 report to the CofS General Assembly, encourages the Church to return the ministry of the Gospel to the people of God. The aim is to give congregations the tools and empowerment to shape a vision for their church. The Church works where people join together, building relationships with each other and the community. It is through these relationships that the Gospel is spread. As each congregation is as unique as the people in it, no one model fits all. The report declares that growth is best achieved by allowing congregations the space and opportunity to develop their own patterns of ministry, mission, worship and leadership that best suits their people and situations. It also encourages us to think from the ground up. This may be seen as the opposite to how things have been in the past. The authors of the report desired to place into the hands of Gods people the opportunity to live out our faith, each according to our uniqueness, made in the image of God. It is our hope and prayer that the report, together with the many other initiatives within the Church at present, will stimulate the Church to face the future in faith and hope." |
