Appointment of a minister
Our congratulations go to Malcolm Jefferson on successfully being elected by the congregations of St Andrews Leckie and Lyne & Manor as their future minister. However, this doesn't conclude the appointment process.
So what happens next?
On Sunday 5th and 12th February, a document named The Call will be available and all the members of St Andrews Leckie may sign it, together with those whose name were added to the Electoral Roll as Adherents in June 2011. If a member cannot be present to sign The Call, a mandate can be obtained from the Session Clerk or an Elder to add the person's name to The Call. A second document will also be available to allow those who are not on the Electoral Roll but who worship regularly at St Andrews Leckie Church to sign a Paper of Concurrence. Finally The Call must be sustained by Presbytery, at their March meeting.
Osprey Youth Project
Since John Allan joined us as Youth Worker at the end of June, he has been busy getting to know our young people. This led to 7Up being continued over the summer and the formation of a new youth band. Plans are underway for a group for older teenagers, to explore their faith at a deeper level than is possible in 7Up.
John is also busy making links with other Peebles churches, the High School, and youth organisation in the town and more widely in the Borders.
